The inaugural Azerbaijan–Pakistan Technology Forum (PTF) marked a significant milestone in cross-border technological cooperation on September 29. Spearheaded by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the forum was backed by vital organizations including AzPromo, the Pakistan Embassy in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Embassy in Pakistan, the Pakistan–Azerbaijan Economic Cooperation Chamber (PAKAZCHAM), and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB).

A Hub of Technological Innovation

The forum showcased the expertise of thirty-five leading ICT entrepreneurs from both countries, each bringing to the table a wealth of innovation and technological prowess. The companies represented a broad range of cutting-edge services and products, such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Augmented Reality, Cryptocurrency, Internet of Things, Core Banking Systems, Software Development, Cloud Computing, and Mobile Applications Development. These participants came from diverse sectors, including finance, telecom, education, healthcare, insurance, real estate, and oil and gas, collectively demonstrating the dynamic potential for collaboration and growth.

The event was graced by key figures like Ambassador Bilal Hayee, PSEB’s Chief Commercial Officer Zeeshan Rehman Khattak, AZPROMO’s Head Yusif Abdullayev, and PAKAZCHAM President Khurram Javaid Bhatti. Pakistan is home to 13 Software Technology Parks and annually produces over 20,000 IT graduates and engineers. Aligned with Pakistan Vision 2025, the ICT industry aims to reach $20 billion by 2025, underscoring its global aspirations.

The forum transitioned into productive B2B meetings, where Pakistani delegates showcased a range of products and services across sectors such as finance, insurance, telecom, healthcare, hospitality, and real estate. These interactions laid the groundwork for potential partnerships between private sector entities, with strong support from the Government of Azerbaijan, paving the way for future collaborations.
