Govt Proposes Over Rs. 20 Billion for Space-Related Projects Next Fiscal Year

Islamabad:Ahead of the federal budget 2025-26, the government has proposed allocations of over Rs. 20 billion for major satellite-related projects under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP), sources told ProPakistani.
An amount of Rs. 18.13 billion has been allocated for the Pakistan Multi-Mission Communication Satellite System (PakSat-MM1) project for the upcoming fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the government has proposed development funds to the tune of Rs. 1.7 billion for the Pakistan Optical Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-O2) project.
The government has proposed Rs. 718.58 million for Accelerated Geopolitical Mapping and Mineral Exploration Using Modern Satellite Imaging-Based Technologies for Unmapped Areas in Pakistan.
An amount of Rs. 600 million has been proposed for a Pakistan Manned Space Mission next fiscal year. The government also intends to proceed with the Development of the Pakistan Lunar Exploration Rover (PLExR) for the Chang’e-8 Mission, which is scheduled for launch in the calendar year 2029.
