Innovation, Automation, and Flavor: IFTECH Pakistan 2025 Wraps Up with Industry Buzz in Lahore

Muhammad Naeem:

Islamabad: From buzzing machinery to the aroma of fresh food samples, IFTECH Pakistan 2025 delivered a vibrant display of the country’s evolving food and beverage processing industry as it concluded this week at the Expo Centre Lahore.

Spanning several halls and attended by thousands, the 21st edition of IFTECH—short for International Food & Technology Exhibition—brought together manufacturers, entrepreneurs, food scientists, and tech suppliers under one roof, showcasing the latest innovations in processing, packaging, automation, cold chain logistics, and ingredients.

Walking through the expo felt like stepping into the future of food manufacturing in Pakistan. From automated bakery lines and high-speed filling machines to eco-friendly packaging solutions and smart refrigeration systems, the variety on display reflected both global trends and local adaptability.

One standout feature this year was the strong international participation. Companies from China, Turkey, Germany, and the UAE were visibly active, seeking partnerships with Pakistani firms. Many local manufacturers expressed optimism about expanding their reach through collaborations sparked at the event.

“We’re here to find better automation solutions for our production line,” said Zahid Ali, a Lahore-based dairy processor. “IFTECH gives us access to options that would otherwise take months to discover.”

In addition to the exhibition halls, the event featured live demos, tasting zones, and a series of technical sessions. These covered topics like food safety, halal certification, sustainable packaging, and export readiness—issues that are increasingly critical as Pakistan aims to grow its footprint in regional and international markets.

The energy throughout the three-day event was noticeably high, especially among younger attendees—culinary students, food tech graduates, and startup founders looking for tools and technologies to launch or scale their ideas.

A noticeable shift this year was the focus on digitization and smart manufacturing, with several vendors highlighting cloud-connected systems, AI-powered inspection tools, and traceability platforms—signaling that the food tech sector in Pakistan is not just catching up but innovating in its own right.

As the expo drew to a close, participants agreed on one thing: IFTECH has evolved beyond a trade show. It’s now a vital touchpoint for the country’s food industry to network, learn, and prepare for the future.

With strong momentum and growing interest each year, IFTECH Pakistan is quickly becoming the go-to destination for food tech professionals, and expectations are already high for the 2026 edition.
