My Experience at IBC 2025 in Amsterdam

Muhammad Naeem:

Amsterdam: I attended the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) 2025 in Amsterdam from September 14 to 15, on behalf of my organization The Other Side. IBC is one of the world’s biggest events for broadcasting, media, and digital technology. For me, it was a great chance to see new ideas and compare them with how broadcasting works in Pakistan.

The Event

The IBC exhibition was very big and full of energy. Thousands of people came from all over the world. Hundreds of companies showed their latest products—modern cameras, sound systems, editing software, and cloud-based broadcasting tools.

The most interesting part was how much the industry is moving toward digital systems, cloud technology, and artificial intelligence (AI). Many companies showed how their tools can save time, cut costs, and improve the quality of content.

Learning Opportunities

Along with the exhibition, I also joined some conference sessions. Experts talked about the future of broadcasting and how it is changing quickly. The main topics were AI, 5G internet, streaming platforms, virtual reality (VR), and sustainability.

I realized that today broadcasting is not just about TV channels. It is about reaching people everywhere—on phones, computers, and streaming apps.

Pakistan’s Broadcasting Industry

When I compared IBC with Pakistan, I saw a big difference. In Europe, broadcasters are already using cloud systems and AI for faster work. Streaming platforms are fully part of the industry.

In Pakistan, many TV channels are still using old equipment. Work is more manual and less digital. Streaming is growing but very slowly, and often without strong technical support. Training for staff is also limited, so many people do not know about new global trends.

Challenges for Us

Events like IBC are very useful, but also difficult for many professionals from Pakistan. Travel, hotels, and visas are expensive. This makes it hard for young professionals to attend and learn directly from the world’s best companies.

Suggestions for Pakistan

Pakistan should focus more on digital broadcasting. Our TV channels and media houses need to invest in cloud technology, modern cameras, and AI-based tools. At the same time, we must build local training and workshops so professionals can learn new skills without always going abroad.

If universities, government, and private media companies work together, Pakistan can create its own small-scale exhibitions and conferences, just like IBC. This will help our industry grow faster and connect better with the world.

Conclusion

Attending IBC 2025 was a great experience for me. It showed me how much the world is moving forward with new broadcasting technologies, and how Pakistan still has a long way to go. With proper investment, training, and vision, Pakistan’s broadcasting industry can also become modern and strong.
