Pakistan Plans $1 Billion Investment in Artificial Intelligence by 2030
Muhammad Naeem:
Islamabad: The federal government has decided to invest $1 billion in artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the country’s digital and technology sector.
According to official sources, this investment will be made in different phases and is expected to continue until 2030. The main goal of this initiative is to make advanced AI technology more accessible and encourage innovation in both the public and private sectors.
The Ministry of IT will start a major program to build the basic infrastructure needed for AI. This project will be carried out through the Ignite National Technology Fund. It will focus on increasing computing power and providing better access to high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs), which are essential for AI development.
Sources said that both government organizations and private companies will be given access to these computing resources and GPU systems. This support will help in research and development, especially in areas like machine learning, data analysis, and other modern technologies.
Officials believe that this initiative will help Pakistan compete better in the global technology market. They also said that increased investment in AI will support businesses, researchers, and startups, and create new opportunities for innovation in the country.
