Delegation of RIUJ meets with Fawad Chaudhary

Islamabad: A delegation of Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Jouralists-RI UJ met on Thursday with Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry and discussed the difficultieas faced by the journalists over non-payment of salaries and dues.

Expressing his determination not to back down on the issue of faik News, the Information Minister said that now mobile phone is the only TV, newspaper and social media tool.
The Information Minister said that 99% of fake news is run on social media, 3 to 4% on national media, the fake news regarding the Prime Minister’s salary was also run.
He said that media owners want to keep the two platforms separate, it is not possible to separate media and social media, they will be merged.
He said that forced labor is being taken from media workers, media industry is unhealthy, Rs 75 crore was paid to media owners, who will ask if the government will not stand up for media workers, he added.
The Information Minister announced the abolition of the committee on plots and said that a new committee would be formed now. A new form has been prepared for journalists to be included in the Pakistan Housing Project. It has also been decided to make the list public.
