Mountain lift makes school journey safer for children in China

Islamabad:Children in a mountain village in China no longer have to spend hours walking along dangerous slopes to reach school after the local administration installed a 288-metre-high lift on the side of the mountain.
The foreign media reports said the lift takes children from the mountaintop to the bottom, and back again, within a few seconds. Previously, children and local residents had to spend hours walking up the steep mountain to reach schools and markets, with a risk of accidents along the way.
The new lift has made the journey much easier and safer for the local community.
The project has also attracted tourists from distant areas, who have started visiting the village to see the unusual lift.
