PM orders facilitation for Qatari group investment in Pakistan

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to attracting foreign investment by directing authorities to extend full support and facilitation to Qatar’s Tameer Group.
The directive came during a meeting with a delegation led by Muhammad Hussain Al Ali, founder of the Qatari construction and investment group.
The delegation called on Prime Minister Sharif in Islamabad to discuss investment plans and ongoing projects in Pakistan. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, federal ministers Ahad Khan Cheema and Attaullah Tarar, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, and senior officials.
PM highlights Pakistan-Qatar friendship
Speaking during the meeting, the prime minister said Qatar is a long-standing friend of Pakistan. He said Qatar has stood by Pakistan in every difficult time, reflecting the strength of the relationship between the two countries.
The PM said the government is taking steps on a priority basis to increase foreign investment. He said obstacles to investment have been removed under the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
He added that Pakistan has vast investment potential in tourism, hotels, hospitality, real estate and construction.
