Wasim Akram stones devil in trademark bowling style during Hajj

Lahore:Former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram, famously known as the “Sultan of Swing,” captured attention during Hajj as he performed the symbolic stoning ritual at Jamarat with a bowling action reminiscent of his iconic style on the cricket field.

A video showing the 59-year-old cricket legend carrying out the symbolic stoning of the devil in Mina, Saudi Arabia, has gone viral on social media.

The former fast bowler was filmed performing Rami al-Jamarat during the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, with many social media users praising the light-hearted moment.

Separately, a few days earlier on the sidelines of Hajj, Wasim Akram met former Pakistan batter Saeed Anwar.

Photographs from the sacred pilgrimage, showing Saeed Anwar alongside Wasim Akram, former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq and singer and television host Fakhar-e-Alam, also gained widespread attention online.

The images, captured during spiritual moments in Makkah, prompted emotional reactions and admiration from cricket fans across the world.
