Iran has received a preliminary unofficial draft framework of a memorandum of understanding, Iranian media reported.
According to Iranian media, the Islamabad memorandum framework has not yet been finalised and Tehran is seeking practical and concrete verification before taking any step.
The report said that if a final agreement is reached within 60 days, it would be approved in the form of a United Nations Security Council resolution. Under the framework, commercial shipping traffic would be restored to pre-war levels.
According to the report, shipping movement in the Strait of Hormuz would be jointly managed by Iran and Oman. Under the memorandum of understanding, military vessels would not pass through the Strait of Hormuz, while US military forces would withdraw from Iranian territory.
Meanwhile, deputy secretary of Iran’s National Security Council Ali Bagheri said there would be no negotiations with the United States on enriched uranium. He added that no agreement had been reached between Iran and the United States regarding the Strait of Hormuz, while Iran was holding talks with Oman on shipping movement.
