Indian pilgrims to reach Pakistan for Jor Mela, Ranjit Singh anniversary

Lahore:Pakistan has announced the schedule for the arrival of Indian Sikh pilgrims who will visit the country to participate in the annual Jor Mela celebrations and observe the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

According to the schedule, Sikh pilgrims from India will arrive in Pakistan in separate phases on June 10 and 21 to perform religious rituals at different gurdwaras.

Indian Sikh pilgrims will arrive in Pakistan on June 10 to participate in Jor Mela. After their arrival, the pilgrims will travel to Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib, one of the most sacred sites for the Sikh community.

The main ceremony of Jor Mela will be held on June 16 at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore. Pilgrims who arrive for Jor Mela will leave for India on June 19.

Second group to attend Ranjit Singh anniversary

A separate group of Indian Sikh pilgrims will arrive in Pakistan on June 21 to attend the death anniversary ceremonies of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. During their stay, the pilgrims will visit various gurdwaras, including Nankana Sahib.

The main ceremony for Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s death anniversary will be held on June 29 at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore.

Return via Wagah border

Indian Sikh pilgrims arriving on June 21 will return to India via the Wagah border on June 30.

Authorities are expected to facilitate the pilgrims during their stay as they take part in religious rituals and visits to historic Sikh sites across Pakistan.
