Ishaq Dar reaffirms federal commitment to resolving Balochistan’s issues

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to addressing the challenges facing Balochistan, saying the province’s development and prosperity would be ensured within the framework of the Constitution.
Dar made the remarks during a meeting with National Party President Dr Abdul Malik Baloch in Islamabad.
According to an official statement, the two leaders discussed the overall situation in Balochistan and agreed to work together for the welfare of the province’s people.
“The federal government is committed to resolving the problems of the people of Balochistan,” Dar said.
He added that the province’s prosperity and development would be pursued in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan.
Dr Abdul Malik Baloch welcomed the commitment and expressed his willingness to cooperate with the federal government for the welfare of the people of Balochistan.
He also said that those involved in militancy in the province “do not have public support or moral justification.”
Federal Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa also attended the meeting.
