Lanka Premier League draft to be held in Colombo on June 1

Lahore: The player draft for the sixth edition of the Lanka Premier League will take place in Colombo on June 1, with more than 400 cricketers set to feature in the selection process.
A total of 421 players have registered for the draft, including 242 overseas cricketers. The pool also features 179 Sri Lankan players from the national, domestic and emerging categories.
The draft will feature Platinum, Gold, Classic, Emerging and Associate Stars categories.
In the Platinum category, 17 local and 31 overseas players have been listed for selection.
The draft ceremony will begin at 1:30pm and will be attended by franchise owners and team officials.
Sri Lanka’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage, will attend as chief guest, while members of the Cricket Transformation Committee and Sri Lanka Cricket officials will also be present.
The Lanka Premier League 2026 is scheduled to take place from July 17 to August 8.
