IRGC says 28 vessels crossed Strait of Hormuz in past 24 hours

Islamabad: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy said on Sunday that 28 vessels, including oil tankers, container ships and other commercial ships, crossed the Strait of Hormuz during the past 24 hours after receiving the necessary permits.

The force said all vessels were allowed to pass through the strategic waterway under its coordination and with security support. According to the IRGC, a total of 48 vessels have crossed the Strait of Hormuz over the past two days.

Moreover, the IRGC has said it maintained full control over the Strait of Hormuz and continued to monitor the waterway closely.

It also stated that the Persian Gulf belonged to the Muslim countries of the region and accused the United States military of being the principal source of insecurity in the area.
